Mexico Day One

We got up a little late (after getting in at about midnight) and got ready for the church service. We went to the church that is on the compound we are staying at. There are long term American missionaries that have a church and a very nice set up here. We attended their service and there were about 75 people there. The worship was awesome, all in Spanish of course. The last song they sang was “How Great is Our God” and it was INCREDIBLE. I was on my knees worshipping, there were people in the front at the altar and everyone was just alive in the Spirit. It was so amazing to hear it sung in Spanish and just realize that God hears us, no matter what language we speak or where we live on this planet. God knows each of us by name and He loves each one of us.

We got to go to the Mexican WalMart for food and supplies and get ourselves organized. We spent the day kind of getting our bearings and figuring out what the week held for us. We got to go to the local park and watch the soccer group that we are with, play soccer. It is just so cool to see how kids respond to each other out there on the soccer field. The girls just grabbed a soccer ball and started walking down the street to the park, before we knew it, there were kids everywhere. It was very cool. I never saw the glorification of God in sports before, but I saw how the Father was glorified in this. They all had so much fun and were connected whether they knew each other’s language or not! It was great.

We have a big day tomorrow and we are looking forward to all the great stuff that God has for us!
